he's from Tianbao Fuyao Lu / Legend of Exorcism. it has a novel, manhua, and donghua. the story is very good!!!!! i would definitely recommend it. I'll get back to you on other recs soon, I've just been a little preoccupied. ^_^

i think mxtx's works (svsss, mdzs, tgcf) are a good starting point. they have donghuas and mdzs even has a live action adaption (the untamed). id also recommend erha, devil vulnerable also wants to know, sa ye, and the governor is sick. anything by meatbun is good but note that her works tend to have darker themes.

unfortunately i havent read or watched much. though, some of the danmeis I've read have donghuas and live action adaptions. Would you be interested in danmei and baihe recommendations?

Hi I am the anonymous below, thank you for the advice and I will in fact be using it for the future. However, I feel kind of unmotivated because I think about how there are people that were raised to know both English and Chinese and didn’t have to put years of learning into one of these languages (I’m monolingual btw) so I’m thinking why should I? T_T

language is our primary mode of communication. take note that its not THAT easy to juggle two languages at once, even if you’ve grown up doing it. unless youre consistently speaking both, it can be easy to forget even the most basic phrases. for the most part i learned french through classes im taking for school. at first, i didnt speak it at all over summer break, and would have to spend a while reminding myself of simple vocabulary and conjugations. but recognizing the importance of language and translation motivated me. around a billion people speak chinese! you also aren’t required to put a lot of effort into it every day, its fine to take breaks for a few days at a time or to go slowly. even just fifteen minutes of flashcards can be enough to make sure you’re retaining information. It’s your choice. ^w^ Also, though it depends on the person, it can take a short while (ie. a month) to form a habit. however once youve been putting in that effort to stay consistent, it becomes second nature. That, for example, fifteen minutes, will seem like nothing. im a little biased but i think that learning anything is amazing. there are so many things to know in the world and its human nature to want to understand.
